I first met Derrick Edwards many years ago while playing music with Ray Sherman's "Country Stingers" band. I was certainly impressed with his drumming abilities and talent. We have had a long working relationship (musically) ever since that time. Though I only work selective gigs thse days, you wll usually find Derrick Edwards behind the drums. Derrick keeps very active as a drummer, working with several different bands ranging from church gigs to R&B to Bluegrass. If you have a need for a talented drummer, one who has spent his lifetime playing music full-time, get in touch with Derrick Edwards. He also has a great personality! That is a real plus when working in the public.
Derrick Edwards and Tony Barge
as they perform a duo gig for Derrick's father-in-law during October 2011, near Kittanning, PA. That thingDerrick is sitting on looks like no more than a stool, but it is some sorta African drum. It sounds like a drum set as Derrick taps his fingers and hands in different areas to achieve different tones, ranging from bass drum to snare rim shot. It's a pretty fascinating unit! Of course, a talented man is keeping the rythmn. That definately makes a diffrence!
